Precious Little Gems Kuranda is a hand-crafted business run by Katie and ken Richardson. We are located in Kuranda, Far North Queensland, Australia.

So if you have met us at one of our regular markets over the years or at our little shop in the Kuranda Original Markets, you can meet us again in the digital world
we designs all the little treasures on display here. Our unique style combining naturally beautiful materials has already attracted a strong following. Now our work can be purchased by anyone, anywhere in the world.

Precious Little Gems, Kuranda started a while ago when we was thinking about jewellery for our two beautiful little kids and all we could find was very expensive and easy to lose gold and silver or cheap and nasty plastic (also easy to lose and break) – and all as common as mud.
We’ve always known that our kids (and yours) are one of a kind, individual and unique. So we started making one-off and funky gemstone jewellery for kids. Hence the name: Precious Little Gems, Kuranda.
Many years later our range now extends to women, men and kids jewellery.


INSPIRATIONS

We love living in our beautiful little rainforest home in Far North Queensland. We love the tropics and the reef, the vibrancy and the intensity of colour and the proliferation of life in the tropics, the wonderment of nature and the gifts of the Earth, and the love, encouragement and support of our family and friends.
We let the crystals talk and allow a new piece to find its own form and character.
Making jewellery is only one form of art that we’ve turned my hand to and we’ve been lucky enough to have some wonderful mentors – people who’ve been good enough to share their knowledge with us.
I’ve been in the handmade cottage industry for over 20 years and lovin it!!

Our mediums include semi precious gemstones, crystals, pearls, wood, stone, shell, glass, metals, and bone, which are inspirational in themselves.

We feel truly blessed.
